How you might improve your immune system? All in all, your healthy immune system provides you protection against microorganisms such as bacteria, virus etc.

We all want to be strong but different people give us different suggestions to boost up immunity... :O

for instance:

Take this medicine.... no, take that one

Take this supplement... no, that one.

Few may suggest you take that supplements which are costly.... HUH!

In this ongoing condition it is complicated for me like a block puzzle to cope up with COVID 19 infection virus and increasing inflation rate. You also experienced that some time we are not sure about the result of that branded supplement..... :(

Today I am going to talk about the most popular ingredient of your daily cuisine that is garlic through my blog of health with spices.

Garlic (Allium sativum) in Urdu called Lehsan is one of the most broadly utilized ingredient in Pakistani and Indian cuisine. It works against microbial diseases and has other properties like cardio protective, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory agent.

When we make garlic paste with water it worked as:

1. Antibacterial

2. Antiparasitic

3. Modify immune response

4. Lipid metabolism (reduce your bad cholesterol level)

5. Cardiovascular-protective effects

With oil extract garlic worked as:

1. Antibacterial

2. Modify immune response

3. Acaricidal (to kill ticks and mites)

Scientifically we can make extract of garlic with hexane, chloroform etc... but I will not be going to discuss it because we can do it at home ... LOL!

Oil and water extract of garlic is good enough for us. (thumbs up) :) :D

Well... the question is: What is the role of garlic in modification of immune system?

Inflammation is the result of an immune system reaction, which is important and significant for pathogen end and wound healing. In strong individual, inflammation usually settle itself. But, when the body can't resolve inflammation itself, chronic inflammation develops which is an undesirable condition that may lead to numerous illness states, for example, metabolic disorder, hypertension (increase in blood pressure), atherosclerosis, diabetes, and joint pain.

Important garlic component:

- Garlic contains a compound called alliin. At the point when garlic is eaten in any form, this compound transforms into allicin (with a c), the primary dynamic component in garlic.

- Allicin gives garlic its unique smell and taste.

- Garlic has provided guarantee result as a treatment for colds and flu.

- It has been noted that crushing garlic and leave it for about ten minutes before cooking will prevent the loss of its medicinal properties.

- Researcher also suggested that you can increase the amount of garlic to get its maximum benefit in cooking.

Lots of posts that recommend eating garlic to stop infection of COVID-19 are being shared on Facebook/ WhatsApp /twitter and on other social media plat forms. :O

The World Health Organization (WHO) have answered the public’s most pressing questions.

A popular theory is that consuming garlic could help prevent infection from the new coronavirus.

WHO stated: “Garlic is a healthy food that may have some antimicrobial properties. However, there is no evidence from the current outbreak that eating garlic has protected people from the new corona virus."

One Morning Post of South China reported a story of a woman who had to receive hospital treatment for a severely inflamed throat after consuming 1.5 kg of raw garlic. Very bad indeed.... :(

Study suggest the garlic extract had inhibitory effects on IBV in the chicken’s embryo. bronchitis virus (IBV) is a corona virus in chicken. (Avicenna J Phytomed. 2016 Jul-Aug; 6(4): 458–267).

Remember for health benefits of Garlic:

High intakes of garlic supplements can be toxic, so don't exceed the dosage recommendations i.e. 600-1200 mg per day or 2-3 garlic cloves per day. (Important tip from "health with spices")
